First Animal Protection in Hungary

Not only we but more than 120 civilian organizations and even more animal lovers decided to take action. Approximately 8.000-9.000 people felt that it could not go on like that anymore. The biggest problem is that in spite of our good statutory background, criminals are always exempted by the court. Speakers gave shocking speeches. Let me quote one of them: “A man threw his dog out of the window in Budapest. There was no verdict. Recently he killed his wife with 100 stab wounds.”(Quoted from the speech of the Animal Protection Organization) “Anyone who is able to cause harm to any living creature in cold blood, will not differentiate. It reveals a mental problem that needs to be addressed.” (Kajó Cecília – Animal Protection jurist)”
